Sometimes it窶冱 hard to see the cards in long, crowded fans. You can peek at the hidden cards by holding down the command key and clicking on them!
Most games are scored by how many cards you play to the foundations, and your statistics are just the number of games you窶况e won. But Golf, Canfield, Klondike, Yukon, and Pyramid have special scoring and statistics! See the Games Guide for details.
The status bar shows you your statistics! Usually it窶冱 something like 窶46/81 56%窶 which means you窶况e played 81 games and won 46 of them, which means you窶况e won 56% of your games. Your stats apply only to the kind of solitaire you窶决e playing.
Have you won? Are you stuck? The status bar tells you! It窶冱 at the bottom of the game window, next to the scroll bar. It shows an Ace of Hearts normally, a Blue Ribbon if you窶况e won, or a red X over the Ace if you窶决e stuck.
What窶冱 your score in this game? The status bar tells you! It窶冱 at the bottom of the game window, next to the scroll bar. Your score usually looks something like 窶15/52窶 which means you窶况e played 15 out of a total 52 cards to the goal.
How many moves have you made in this game? The status bar tells you! It窶冱 at the bottom of the game window, next to the scroll bar. The number of moves is at the left end.
Find any face-up card easily! Press the 5 key on your keyboard to highlight all the 5's. Press 0 (zero) to find 10's, or A, J, Q, or K to find Aces, Jacks, Queens or Kings. Press H, S, D, or C to only highlight the Hearts, Spades, Diamonds, and Clubs.
Easy Undo and Redo! Press the ESC key to undo moves, and the space bar to redo them.
Do words like 窶徼ableau窶 and 窶彷oundation窶 confuse you? Never fear! Learn what these and other special words mean by reading the chapter About Solitaire in the Games Guide.
Want to start a game over from the beginning? You can! Just select Undo All from the Edit menu, and let the game 窶徨ewind窶 back to the start.
Do other people play Solitaire Till Dawn on your computer? Would you like to keep your preferences and scores separate from theirs? You can, by using Profiles! Read about them in the User Guide窶冱 chapter on Preferences.
Having trouble learning a new game? Try the Sample Games! Each one is a saved game that was fully played to a win by an expert. See the User Guide for details on how you can learn from the expert!
Want a clean start? You can zero out your saved scores and statistics for a game by selecting Clear Statistics... from the Preferences menu.
Are your fingers tired of clicking the mouse? Take a break! Then the next time you play, turn on Magnetic Mouse. (It窶冱 in the Preferences menu.) Magnetic Mouse lets you pick up and drop cards without clicking! See the User Guide for details.
If your game is too large for your monitor, your window can be scrolled. It will scroll automatically while you窶决e dragging cards if you select Auto Scroll from the Preferences menu. Select it again to stop the auto-scrolling.
Have you paid your shareware fee? Is Solitaire Till Dawn still reminding you to pay anyway? Just put a checkmark in the I Paid checkbox! To find the I Paid checkbox, select the Preferences menu item.
Solitaire Till Dawn can automatically set your monitor to 256 colors (or to 16 colors) whenever you窶决e playing, and set it back when you窶决e done. Make your choice by selecting the Preferences menu item.
If you have a small monitor, you might prefer to use the smaller size cards. Make your choice by selecting the Preferences menu item.
If you don't like being asked to save every game, you can turn off the reminders. Select the Preferences menu item and uncheck the box labeled Show 窶彜ave Game?窶 Reminders.
Solitaire Till Dawn can tell you whether you窶决e stuck! Select the Am I Stuck? menu item at any time during a game.
Solitaire Till Dawn can tell you automatically when you窶决e stuck 窶板 or not, whichever you prefer! Make your choice by selecting the Card Shark Options... menu item.
Send cards flying to the foundations! Just select the Auto Play menu item from the Card Shark menu.
Cards will always fly to the foundations automatically if you select the Autoplay to Goal option! (Select the Card Shark Options... menu item to find it.)
The status bar will notify you of a win by displaying a single blue ribbon. (Not a cluster of ribbons窶杯hose are your stats.) You can be also be notified of wins with an alert or a sound or both! Make your choices with the Preferences menu item.
You can be notified of wins early, to save you the trouble of playing those last few boring cards. Or you can be notified late, if you like the satisfaction of a fully completed game. Make your choice by selecting the Preferences menu item.
Cards can fly to their destinations with just a single click 窶 or not, whichever you prefer! Make your choice by selecting the Card Shark Options... menu item and then using the Smart Cards checkbox.
You can select different background patterns for the window and different pictures for the card backs! Just select the Cards & Patterns... menu item from the Preferences menu.
